Counselor's Week Paper Heart Wreath

Every year, Counselor's week falls right around Valentine's day (the first week of February).  I always make our two FABULOUS Counselor's something to treasure and this year was no different.  In fact, I think this is my FAVORITE one by far.  I "stole" the idea from a blog I follow, but of course, tweaked it to be my own style!

"Amazingly, Awesome, Talented...YOU" Paper heart wreath!

And...here are our FABULOUS Counselors!

THANKS Mrs. Van Allen and Mrs. Guerra for all you do for children!

Christmas Goodies

Since Thanksgiving, I have been frantically working to finish many projects for family members...especially the ones out of town since I have to send them early in order for arrival by Christmas time!

When my niece was born 2 years ago I decided to start an annual tradition...creating a handmade scrapbook ornament to treasure for years to come.  Here is this year's ornament for my sweet niece, Piper!

And here it is on the Christmas Tree...

My sister and her husband also enjoy my handmade goodies, so I decided to make an ornament for them to add to their Christmas tree.  Here's my creation:

Since my family lives in different parts of the U.S. and we don't get to visit each other that often, they really enjoy receiving my handmade cards vs. "Hallmark" for all occasions!  Here are my Christmas cards for this year:

Finally, as a teacher who loves to craft, I always enjoy creating an ornament project for my students to make for their parents.  This year, I used a variation of an ornament I found on Pinterest:

I set up stations in my classroom, explained each station to the class, let them choose their paper & colors, and create away. students had a BLAST making these for their parents and they turned out to be super cute!!!

My goal for 2013 is to participate in more color and sketch challenges, post on my blog more often, hopefully win some "Blog Candy", and get my Stampin' Up Business off the ground!
I wish everyone a safe and Happy New Year!

Happy Valentine's Day 2012

Just wanted to share some of the gifts I made for special people!

Thanks to my good friend, Erica, for the idea, I made these cute "sour cream" gifts filled with Reeses and M&M's for my teammates and administration.

Thanks to my Stampin' Up Demonstrator Catalog, I saw these cute Valentine's Day gifts and decided they would be perfect for my 28 students.  I filled them with a "secret surprise" inside behind the M&M's (a free no homework day) and of course, added a must-have pencil to the back!

I also made two cards using all Stampin' Up products for the special women in my life...my mom and my grandma!

And, of course, the inside of both cards!

Happy Counselor's Week!

This is Counselor's Week and I was inspired by a variety of things (a blog challenge...HSS Anything but a Card Challenge #103, a scrapbook club gift, and Pinterest) to make this special gift for my two favorite counselors!  Enjoy, ladies!

It's a small pink pail from a local craft store with tons of "pretty ribbon" on the handles.  I used the Hearts framelits, patterned paper, the true friend stamp from the Punch Bunch stamp set in Cherry Cobbler ink, and of course, rhinestones!

And...inside are homemade chocolate chip cookies with brown ribbon to tie them up, everyone's favorite peanut butter cups, and shredded paper in red, white, and pink!

Christmas 2011 Goodies

Wow!  Where does the time go?  I've spent the past few weeks scraping away to create goodies for my students, room parents, administration, teammates, and last, but not least, FAMILY!  Here are all of my creations for Christmas 2011!

I decided to continue a tradition started by my grandparents when I was born to pass along to my niece, Piper, in a slightly different form.  My grandparents handcrafted ornaments each year since we were born up until we were 18 (I think!).  So, I decided to create ornaments using scrapbooking techniques.  A good friend of mine suggested I make a box for her to store them in year after year, so here are last year's Christmas ornament, this year's Christmas ornament, and the box from different viewpoints!

I wanted to include something personal for Piper when she gets older, so here's the poem I created on the inside lid of the box.

Here are the ornaments I made for my family and teammates using glass balls, scrapbook paper rolled up, ribbon, and a tag (thanks Pinterest for the idea)!

And finally, I created cute little bags with yummy chocolates inside using all SU products for my room parents and administration (Thanks goes to my good friend, Erica for the idea at our monthly stamp club!).  And it wouldn't be complete without a little ornament attached.

Creative Crafting Camp Day 1 Done!

Hi Blog Friends!  I'm back with pictures of our projects for today's camp.  The girls had a FABULOUS time and really enjoyed what we created today.  Can't wait to see what they think of tomorrow's projects.

Here are the samples I made for the girls to "mirror"!

"Beach in a Jar" (show to us by my fabulous friend, Erica, from Pink Buckaroo Designs).  I just adapted it slightly and had to put a picture of the cutest baby in the whole wide world, my niece, PIPER at her first airplane show!
