Niece's Ornaments 2013

I was certainly busy crafting the past few weeks!

I started an annual tradition with my first niece who is now three and began the same tradition with my second niece (this is her first Christmas).  I will scrapbook them an ornament until they are 18.  I even made a keepsake box to store them in.  Here are my niece's ornaments off the tree and on

Christmas Goodies

Since Thanksgiving, I have been frantically working to finish many projects for family members...especially the ones out of town since I have to send them early in order for arrival by Christmas time!

When my niece was born 2 years ago I decided to start an annual tradition...creating a handmade scrapbook ornament to treasure for years to come.  Here is this year's ornament for my sweet niece, Piper!

And here it is on the Christmas Tree...

My sister and her husband also enjoy my handmade goodies, so I decided to make an ornament for them to add to their Christmas tree.  Here's my creation:

Since my family lives in different parts of the U.S. and we don't get to visit each other that often, they really enjoy receiving my handmade cards vs. "Hallmark" for all occasions!  Here are my Christmas cards for this year:

Finally, as a teacher who loves to craft, I always enjoy creating an ornament project for my students to make for their parents.  This year, I used a variation of an ornament I found on Pinterest:

I set up stations in my classroom, explained each station to the class, let them choose their paper & colors, and create away. students had a BLAST making these for their parents and they turned out to be super cute!!!

My goal for 2013 is to participate in more color and sketch challenges, post on my blog more often, hopefully win some "Blog Candy", and get my Stampin' Up Business off the ground!
I wish everyone a safe and Happy New Year!

Christmas 2011 Goodies

Wow!  Where does the time go?  I've spent the past few weeks scraping away to create goodies for my students, room parents, administration, teammates, and last, but not least, FAMILY!  Here are all of my creations for Christmas 2011!

I decided to continue a tradition started by my grandparents when I was born to pass along to my niece, Piper, in a slightly different form.  My grandparents handcrafted ornaments each year since we were born up until we were 18 (I think!).  So, I decided to create ornaments using scrapbooking techniques.  A good friend of mine suggested I make a box for her to store them in year after year, so here are last year's Christmas ornament, this year's Christmas ornament, and the box from different viewpoints!

I wanted to include something personal for Piper when she gets older, so here's the poem I created on the inside lid of the box.

Here are the ornaments I made for my family and teammates using glass balls, scrapbook paper rolled up, ribbon, and a tag (thanks Pinterest for the idea)!

And finally, I created cute little bags with yummy chocolates inside using all SU products for my room parents and administration (Thanks goes to my good friend, Erica for the idea at our monthly stamp club!).  And it wouldn't be complete without a little ornament attached.
